PARTNERING WITH THE MEN FROM MARR’S TO TAKE CONTROL OVER QUALITY

LARGE CAPACITY – FULL IN-HOUSE ENGINEERING SERVICE FROM CONCEPT TO COMMISSIONING

As one of the largest engineering companies in Australia, NEPEAN Engineering & Innovation understand the diverse nature of crane component engineering.  Based on the capacity of NEPEAN’s facilities and the span of control over engineering design, manufacturing, assembly and commissioning,  NEPEAN were chosen to manage production of the wharf crane bogie equalising beam set as part of the Slade Point Port expansion project in QLD, Australia.  Manufacturing was managed completely inhouse which included CNC machining, heavy gauge profile cutting, fabrication & welding, EDM wire cutting, surface treatment and assembly.

Twelve bogie assemblies in total were manufactured in Sydney and delivered to Slade Point, four were used under each crane which is consistently lifting 350T with a lift cap at 1000T.  The three cranes are carried by 32 wheels which become part of the bogie assembly, the wheels alone weigh in at half a tonne per piece.
